Como-Pickton selects homecoming court

Queen to be announced Friday

COMO-PICKTON—Even in the midst of uncertainty, the football tradition of homecoming is holding true as Como-Pickton CISD selected their homecoming court with the queen to be named Friday prior to the Eagles’ game against Wolfe City.

The following are the submitted bios of the senior queen candidates and the court representatives from the underclassmen.

Senior Kionna Conley, 17, participates in yearbook and is currently taking honors precalculus. Her college of choice is Stephen F. Austin University, and she plans to go into the military and study pediatrics while in the Air Force.

Senior Katie Morgan, 17, has been a varsity cheerleader and softball player for four years, and she is the school’s FFA president. She also participates in student council, National Honor Society, academic UIL, Spanish Club and SkillsUSA. She plans to attend Texas Tech University and aims to become a pediatric nurse practitioner.

Senior Cindy Munoz, 17, participates in FFA, FCCLA, SkillsUSA, Spanish Club and National Honor Society. Her college of choice is undecided right now, but she plans to earn a degree in dental hygiene.

Senior Faith Watkins, 17, is an athlete, having played varsity volleyball for three years, varsity basketball for four years and varsity softball for four years. She was selected as the 2019 Softball All-District Defensive MVP and was named to the 2018 and 2019 2nd Team All-District Basketball. She plans to attend North Texas Community College to major in nursing, and her goal is become a nurse.

Junior representative Kara Tifft, 16, participates in varsity cheer and plays basketball, cross country, track and softball. She is also the FFA treasurer and is active in Spanish Club, SkillsUSA and NJHS. Her college of choice is undecided, and she plans to pursue a career in a veterinary field.

Sophomore representative Michelle Mejia, 15, plays volleyball and is active in Spanish Club. She plans to attend Baylor University and aims to enter medical school to be a pediatrician.

Freshman representative Harley Perez, 14, participates in softball, volleyball and track, and her colleges of choice are Baylor University or Texas Tech University. She plans on specializing in dermatology.

Homecoming activities begin 6:50 p.m. Friday before the game.
