Knights of Columbus host fish fry

Knights of Columbus will hold a fish fry every Friday 5:30-7:30 p.m., beginning Feb. 28 and continuing to April 3 at St. James Catholic Church, 297 Texas St. in Sulphur Springs.

All plates include fries, hushpuppies, beans, coleslaw, dessert and tea. Battered cod or boiled shrimp are available on the adult plates. Take-out plates will be available.

The cost is $5 for a mac-and-cheese child’s plate, $10 for a junior plate, $12 for an adult plate or $15 for all you can eat.

Caregiving workshop open to area churches

Marvin United Methodist Church will host a Stephen Ministry Introductory Workshop 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22. Registration begins at 8 a.m.

This half-day, three-session workshop is designed to help congregations catch a vision for strengthening their caring ministry through equipping laypeople as caregivers. During this event, participants will also develop caregiving skills they can use right away.

Pack-a-Pew program to be held at Evening Chapel

Evening Chapel C.M.E. church, 199 Putman St. in Sulphur Springs, will hold their Friends and Family Pack-a-Pew program at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23.

Rev. Shawn Bronson and the Christian Chapel C.M.E. Church of Honey Grove, Texas will be the special guest.

Food will be served 1:30-2:45 p.m. Rev. Gailyn McCurdy is the pastor.
