The first Saturday in December holds much excitement for the Hopkins County community with a Christmas Lights Parade, Christmas in the park and the North East Texas Choral Society Christmas concert, “Deck The Halls."

When 65 voices come together with one goal, lifting spirits and sharing the joys of Christmas, audiences are sure to be left feeling encouraged, joyful and ready to celebrate the season!

These volunteers range from students and teachers, to lawyers, city employees and bankers to retirees, they all come together to share in the joy of singing and volunteer their time to prepare these concerts for their community.

Behind every good foundation and cause is an army of people with a mission to educate, protect, or give back.

It’s important to continue to support live concerts such as these because children and even adults attending live performances learn to appreciate the music, the community and the work it takes to produce each note. They then take this love of singing and music back to their schools, homes and workplaces which reinforces the truth— we all need music in our lives and communities.

The North East Texas Choral Society strives to educate their audience, protect the arts, and give back to the community.

The concert will take place Saturday Dec. 4 at 7 p.m. and Sunday Dec. 5 at 2 p.m. at the Sulphur Springs High School Auditorium located at 1200 Connally Street.

Tickets are available from singers, at local banks and www.singerscount.org.
