Downtown

Dancing and shopping will come to life in September when local shops and restaurants take to the brick streets of downtown Sulphur Springs for an old-fashioned sidewalk sale all day long.

The event will not only feature the shops downtown, but also arts and crafts, antiques, and vintage décor dealers will be flocking to Hopkins County to expand the selections available to shoppers from around the state.

Special featured events include quilting by Lone Star Heritage Quilt Guild, wine tasting at Phinesse’ Farms on Main Street, tastings from Gourmet Kitchen, furniture painting, a trunk show with Marlene’s Sass & Class and special music from Two Twins Variety Store.

Musicians will be preforming throughout the day as well. There will even be a contest with cash prizes for the best dressed vendor space and a best decorated bicycle contest, which will pay $100 to the winner.

The Brick Street Vintage Market will be held Saturday, Sept, 21 in downtown Sulphur Springs and is sponsored by the Sulphur Springs Downtown Business Alliance. Any individual or business interested in joining in the fun, The Magic Scoop, 210 Connally St. in Sulphur Springs, is serving as the information center.

There will be a special supplement in the Sept. 19 issue of the News-Telegram in advance of the event, detailing the fun to be had.
