The following reports are based on arrests conducted with reports filed by Sulphur Springs and Hopkins County law enforcement from 5:30 a.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Tuesday and included:
Arrests on alcohol-related charges
■ A 54-year-old Watauga man was arrested during a DPS traffic stop on Interstate 30 at mile marker 134 at 10:51 p.m. Saturday on charges of driving while intoxicated first offense with a blood alcohol content of 0.15 or more and possession of less than 2 ounces of marijuana. Bond was set at $3,000, and he was released later that day.
Transfers, warrants and other activity
■ A 45-year-old Dallas man was arrested at a Sulphur Springs motel at 8:40 a.m. Friday on a Paris PD warrant for credit/ debit card abuse. Bond was set at $4,000, and he was released from jail Tuesday.
■ Michael Allen Coker, 52, of Tyler was arrested at the TDCJ Johnston Unit in Winnsboro on a probation violation for failure to appear on a May 2019 felony charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Bond was set at $60,000, and Coker remained jail as off press time Tuesday.
■ A 24-year-old Royse City man and a 22-year-old Quinlan woman were arrested at 12:10 p.m. Friday during a traffic stop in the 800 block of Gilmer Street on one count each of possession of drug paraphernalia. Officers reportedly located a grinder with a small amount of marijuana residue in a bag in the back seat of the vehicle. No bond was set, and both were released from jail Saturday.
■ Cody Ray Self, 46, of Sulphur Springs was released from jail Saturday on a $75,000 bond. He was booked in Feb. 14 on a bond revocation warrant for a May 2017 charge of possession of 1-4 grams of a Penalty Group 1 controlled substance.
• Jorge Armando Flores-Santiago, 36, of Sulphur Springs was arrested at his residence on Industrial Drive west at 11:24 p.m. Saturday on a charge of assault/family violence causing bodily injury. The female victim reportedly had a scratched, swollen lip and stated Flores had grabbed her arms and struck her in the chest with his knee. Bond was set at $2,500, and he was released from jail later that day.
■ A 30-year-old Sulphur Springs woman was arrested during a traffic stop on the Interstate 30 eastbound service road at 1:45 a.m. Sunday. She was a passenger in the stopped vehicle, and a records check showed she had an active warrant for theft of property $100-$750. Bond was set at $1,000, and she was released later that day.
■ A 42-year-old Michigan man was arrested at 7:14 a.m. Sunday in the 1000 block of Gilmer Street on a Bexar County warrant for credit/debit card abuse. He remained in jail as of press time Tuesday.
Animal complaints
• Two cows out on FM 1537 at 7:54 a.m. Friday;
• Donkey out on State Highway 11 east at 5:14 p.m. Friday;
• Ten to 20 black cows out on County Road 3536 in Como at 7:58 p.m. Friday; • Lots of cows out on FM 71 east at 7:31
• Lots of cows out on FM 71 east at 7:31 a.m. Saturday;
• A man reported a snake behind his dishwasher on County Road 1439 at 10:31 a.m. Sunday. The snake was reported to be deceased;
• A woman reported a pit bull wearing a large collar and jacket came onto a property on FM 71 east at 11:30 a.m. Sunday;
• A hospital employee reported a 65-year-old subject was bitten by an animal on their left leg at 12:43 p.m. Sunday;
• Black cow out on FM 71 east west of County Road 4582 at 11:57 p.m. Sunday;
• A woman reported a stud horse was on her property causing problems and she needed it gone at 7:07 a.m. Monday;
• One cow out on the Interstate 30 eastbound service road at mile marker 112. The cow ran into the brush at 3:13 p.m. Monday;
• Two black cows out on State Highway 67 west at FM 2633 at 5:28 p.m. Monday;
• A man reported possible animal cruelty and said he had photos. Two horses had no food or water at a property on County Road 1120 at 7:10 p.m. Monday;
• Black cow out on County Road 3512 at CR 3236 at 7:22 p.m. Monday. It was reported out again at 10:24 p.m. Monday;
• Brown and white cows out on County Road 4713 at State Highway 11 west at 8:12 p.m. Monday;
• A woman reported a neighbor’s dog was growling at her on Main Street in Cumby at 5:12 p.m. Monday; and
• Cow out on at the Interstate 30 eastbound rest area in Cumby at 6:31 p.m. Monday.
