The following reports are based on arrests conducted with reports filed by Sulphur Springs and Hopkins County law enforcement from 5:30 a.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Tuesday and included:

Arrests on alcohol-related charges

■ A 42-year-old Austin man was arrested Friday on a charge of public intoxication. He was released from jail Saturday.

■ A 22-year-old Sulphur Springs man was arrested at 4:06 a.m. Saturday in the 1500 block of Shannon Road on a charge of public intoxication. No bond was set, and he was released from jail later that day.

■ A 49-year-old Sulphur Springs man was arrested at 11:12 p.m. Saturday in the driveway of a residence on Interstate 30 west on a charge of public intoxication. The man reportedly jumped in front of a moving vehicle, prompting the motorist to call 911. No bond was set, and he was released from jail Sunday.

Arrests on drugrelated charges

■ Bryer Ray Parnell, 18, of Como was arrested during a traffic stop at 4 p.m. Friday in the 1500 block of College Street on two charges of possession of a Penalty Group 1 controlled substance. Parnell was found to be in possession of cocaine, which he reportedly admitting to having. During booking, jail staff also reportedly located a bag containing a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine. Bond was set at $5,000 per charge, and Parnell was released from jail Sunday.

■ Collin Stephen Moore, 19, of Dike was arrested in the 500 block of Church Street at 1:15 a.m. Monday on a charge of possession of less than 1 gram of a Penalty Group 1 controlled substance in a drugfree zone.

Officers were dispatched to the location in reference to a suspicious vehicle and reportedly detected the odor of marijuana. During contact, Moore allegedly handed officers a bag containing a powder substance believed to be cocaine. Officers also reportedly located a small amount of marijuana in the vehicle.

The stop occurred in a drug-free zone, and the charge was enhanced. Bond was set at $10,000, and Moore was released from jail later the same day.

Miscellaneous arrests

■ A 24-year-old Sulphur Springs man was arrested at a Broadway Street convenience store at 8:49 p.m. Saturday on a charge of criminal trespass. He was at the store in violation of an active criminal trespass warning. Bond was set at $1,000, and he was released from jail Sunday.

■ A 41-year-old Brashear man was arrested at the Sulphur Springs Walmart at 5:11 p.m. Monday on a charge of theft of property less than $100 with previous convictions. The man was detained after allegedly passing the last point of sale with merchandise that had not been paid for. Bond was set at $1,000, and he remained in jail as of press time Tuesday.

■ A 40-year-old Sulphur Springs woman was arrested following a traffic accident at the intersection of Camp and Texas streets at 8:40 p.m. Monday on warrants for driving with license invalid and failing to maintain financial responsibility. She was an occupant of one of the vehicles involved in the crash and was found to have warrants. No bond was set, and she remained in jail as of press time Tuesday.

■ A 36-year-old Yantis man was arrested at 11:27 p.m. Monday during a traffic stop on State Highway 154 south at FM 1567 west just south of the Seymore Cemetery on a charge of driving while license invalid. The man was reportedly stopped for having a defective head lamp and was found to have an invalid driver’s license. No bond was set, and he remained in jail as of press time Tuesday.

Transfers, warrants and other activity

■ Travis Wayne Danker, 38, of Smyrna, Tenn., was released from jail Monday on a $140,000 bond. He was booked in Feb. 4 on multiple warrants on charges from 2018 for possession, unauthorized use of a vehicle and unlawfully carrying a weapon.

Animal complaints

■ Cow out on eastbound Interstate 30 service road at mile marker 129 at 10:47 p.m. Saturday. A second report came in at 12:45 a.m. Sunday;

■ A woman reported a dog bit her husband on the back of his leg at a residence on State Highway 19 south at 3:28 p.m. Sunday. She called back to request a report at 4:24 p.m. Sunday;

■ Tan cow out on Interstate 30 east at mile marker 129 at 9:26 p.m. Sunday;

■ Report of a dog bite on FM 169 south in Pickton at 4:38 p.m. Monday. The mother of the person bitten said she wants the dog tested;

■ A man reported his daughter’s goat is in the neighbor’s yard and he couldn’t get to the goat on County Road 4777 at 4:48 p.m. Monday;

■ Black calf out on State Highway 19 South near the Cowboy Church at 5:43 p.m. Monday;

■ Horse on property and complainant wants it off on FM 2297 at 6:09 p.m. Monday;

■ An animal bite with taser deployed was reported at a property on County Road 4722 at 7:16 p.m. Monday;

■ A woman found a snake in her house on FM 275 north in Cumby at 7:26 p.m. Monday; and

■ Four cows lying in the ditch on County Road 3512 in Hatchetville at 3:53 a.m. Tuesday.
