Man arrested for violation of protective order

A 41-year-old Fort Worth man was arrested on Shannon Road east at 6:13 p.m. Saturday on a charge of violating a protective order.

The man was reportedly sitting under the League Street overpass with a woman who identified herself as his wife. The pair stated they were hitchhiking to Shreveport and reportedly refused consent for Hopkins County deputies to search their belongings. When deputies advised they would not be given a courtesy ride with unknown articles in their belongings, they reportedly began walking eastbound.

Deputies reportedly received a late response through the records check showing a protective order was on file in California, ordering the man to stay away from and have no communication with his female companion. The protective order was confirmed with the City of Oakland, California, and the man was taken into custody.

The female reportedly refused any assistance from deputies and continued walking eastbound, arrest reports read.

 

Texarkana woman charged with disorderly conduct

Officers were dispatched to a local truck stop on Shannon Road west at 12:08 p.m. Saturday in reference to a disturbance and possible fight. They made contact with a 33-year-old Texarkana woman after she reportedly fought another person in a public place. Witnesses reportedly advised officers the woman allegedly attacked the driver of the Greyhound bus on which she was riding and was restrained by other passengers.

DPS Trooper Arturo Ugalde was the first officer to arrive on scene. The woman reportedly approached Ugalde aggressively and attempted to grab his gun to use on the bus driver.

She was restrained and taken into custody, arrest reports read.
