The following reports are based on arrests conducted with reports filed by Sulphur Springs and Hopkins County law enforcement from 5:30 a.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Tuesday and included:

Alcohol-related arrests

• A 57-year-old Sulphur Springs man was arrested at a Gilmer Street grocery store at 4:20 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of public intoxication. He was located inside the store and reportedly had slurred speech and was unsteady on his feet. He reportedly refused to perform standardized field sobriety tests. He was released from jail Wednesday.

Drug-related arrests

• Todd Ray Parnell, 48, of Sulphur Springs was arrested at 11:06 p.m. Tuesday on County Road 4784 on a Rains County warrant for possession of 4-200 grams of a Penalty Group 1 controlled substance.

Parnell was reportedly driving a car with an expired license plate and pulled into a driveway. The deputy reportedly believed Parnell was attempting to avoid contact with him. Parnell then exited the driveway and pulled into a second location and walk to the front door of that residence.

A records check showed Parnell had an active warrant, and he was taken into custody. Bond was set at $50,000, and he was released from jail Wednesday.

• Lisa Beth Manning, 56, of Powderly was arrested during a traffic stop in the 900 block of Gilmer Street at 8:46 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of possession of less than 1 gram of a Penalty Group 1 controlled substance. Manning was reportedly stopped for speeding and gave consent for officers to search the vehicle. They reportedly located a clear plastic baggie containing suspected methamphetamine. Bond was set at $5,000, and Manning was released from jail Thursday.

• Adam Joshua Hodges, 36, of Yantis was arrested at a residence in the 300 block of Lee Street at 1:22 p.m. Thursday on charges of possession of 1-4 grams of a Penalty Group 1 controlled substance, tampering with or fabricating physical evidence and evading arrest, transport or detention with previous convictions. No details were available regarding the arrest as of press time Friday. Bond was set at $22,000, and he remained in jail as of press time Friday.

• Jose Juan Eduardo Santana, 31, of Sulphur Springs was arrested at his residence at 6:34 p.m. Thursday on three counts of sexual assault. No details were available regarding the arrest as of press time Friday. Bond was set at $150,000, and he remained in jail as of press time Friday.

• Maria Evelia Alejo Pantoja, 41, of Sulphur Springs was arrested at her residence at 8:24 a.m. Thursday on a warrant for fraudulent use or possession of fewer than five pieces of identifying information. Bond was set at $5,000, and she remained in jail as of press time Friday.

Transfers, warrants and releases

• Uber Garcia, 29, of Sulphur Springs was released from jail Tuesday on a $50,000 bond. He was booked in July 19 on a charge of aggravated assault with a weapon on on member of family or household.

• Cedric Dewight Mosley, 38, of Sulphur Springs was released from jail Tuesday on a $20,000 bond, He was booked in Jan. 29 on a charge of manufacture or delivery of less than 1 gram of a Penalty Group 1 controlled substance and a parole violation warrant.

• A 36-year-old Sulphur Springs woman was arrested at the Hopkins County Adult Probation Office at 2:25 p.m. Tuesday on a probation violation warrant for possession of less than 2 ounces of marijuana. Bond was set at $5,000, and she remained in jail as of press time Friday.

• Micah Wayne Reynolds, 36, of Sulphur Springs was released from jail Thursday on a $10,000 bond. He was booked in March 21 on a charge of assault on a member of family or household with previous convictions.

• Russell Lynn Crayton, 39, of Sulphur Springs was arrested at his residence at 8:38 p.m. Thursday on a warrant for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. Bond was set at $10,000, and he remained in jail as of press time Friday.

• Jeremy Don Campbell, 33, of Sulphur Springs was arrested at his Helm Lane residence at 7:18 p.m. Thursday on a Texas parole violation. No bond was set, and he remained in jail as of press time Friday.

• John Larry Collins, 30, of Arcadia, La., was arrested during a traffic stop on FM 69 south at 12:28 a.m. Friday on a Harrison County warrant for failure to appear on a charge of burglary. No bond was set, and he remained in jail as of press time Friday.

Animal complaints

• Two black calves out on FM 499 west at 7:42 p.m. Tuesday; the cows were reported out again and heading south at the same location at 8:17 a.m. Thursday; and

• Black and white cows out on SH 11 east in Como at 5:37 p.m. Thursday.
