Deputies arrested a 33-year-old Dike man

for possession of drug paraphernalia and class C assault by physical contact, according to reports. At approximately 10:47 p.m. Sunday, deputies responded to a call on County Road 3563 about a disturbance. When they arrived, the two deputies split up and spoke to the man outside and his mother inside, the report said.

The man’s mother “advised that [the man] began yelling at her and they began arguing,” the report read. The man’s mother said he “grabbed her by both sides of her bathrobe and yelled in her face, making unwanted physical contact,” according to the report.

The woman gave deputies consent to search the family vehicle and allegedly reported her son was the last one to use it and had used it most of the day.

Deputies allegedly located “a glass pipe commonly used to smoke methamphetamine on the ground outside the drivers side front door of the vehicle,” the report read. “The broken pipe had residue believed to be methamphetamine... A bottle cap was located inside the vehicle containing a crystal-like residue believed to be methamphetamine residue,” the report stated.

The man was transported to HCSO without incident and was later released, according to records.
