The following reports are based on arrests conducted with reports filed by Sulphur Springs and Hopkins County law enforcement from 5:30 a.m. Tuesday to 7 a.m. Friday and included:

Drug-related arrests

• A 33-year-old Sulphur Springs man was arrested Tuesday on a charge of possession of a Schedule 3 drug (reported by the arresting officer as diazepam pills), less than 28 grams, within 1,000 feet of an elementary school. No bond was set.

• A 28-year-old Sulphur Springs woman was arrested Tuesday on a charge of possession of a Schedule 2 drug, less than 1 gram. She “admitted to having a syringe in the driver’s door and further admitted to having a drug problem, stating heroin was her drug of choice,” the arresting officer reported. The incident report also stated that the syringe allegedly contained suspected heroin and that a small, empty baggy that was also reportedly found in the driver’s door was suspected to have contained heroin prior to being loaded into the syringe. No bond was set.

• A 33-year-old Sulphur Springs man was arrested Tuesday on a charge of possession of a Schedule 1 drug, less than 1 gram. Bond was set at $5,000, and he was released Wednesday.

• A 32-year-old Wolfe City man was arrested Tuesday on a charge on possession of a Schedule 1 drug, more than 1 gram but less than 4 grams. No bond was set.

• A 35-year-old Sulphur Springs man was arrested Tuesday on charges of possession of a Schedule 3 drug, greater than 28 grams but less than 200 grams, and parole violation. Bond was set at $25,000.

• An Austin man was arrested on the charge of possession of a Schedule 3 drug, more than 28 grams but less than 200 grams. Bond was set at $20,000.

• a 51-year-old Sulphur Springs man was arrested Wednesday on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, alleged possession of “glass pipe of the kind commonly used to smoke methamphetamine,” according to the incident report. No bond was set.

• A 31-year-old Sulphur Springs man was booked in on the charge of possession of a Schedule 1 drug, less than a gram. No bond was set.

• A 22-year-old Sulphur Springs man was booked in on the charge of possession of a Schedule 1 drug, less than a gram. No bond was set.

Miscellaneous arrests

• A 43-year-old Ponder man was arrested Tuesday on charges of unauthorized use of a vehicle and a parole violation. Bond was set at $5,000.

• An 18-year-old Sulphur Springs man was arrested Tuesday on the charge of assault causing bodily injury to a family member. Bond was set at $2,000.

• A 33-year-old Commerce woman was arrested Wednesday on the charge of theft of property, less than $100, with a previous conviction. No bond was set.

• A 31-year-old Sulphur Springs man was arrested Thursday on the charge of criminal trespass.

• A 60-year-old Forth Worth man was arrested on the charges of public intoxication and possession of drug paraphernalia following an investigation into a welfare concern called in by an employee at a Sulphur Springs convenience store. The man was seen laying in the middle of the store’s parking lot after reports that he had been laying in the way of traffic on State Highway 11.

After locating the man’s vehicle in the parking lot, deputies obtained consent to search the vehicle, during which search deputies reportedly located drug paraphernalia. According to the deputies’ report, the man admitted he had “consumed a large amount of methamphetamine the night before.”

Transfers, warrants and releases

• A 30-year-old Arcadia man was arrested Tuesday on a Harrison County, Miss. warrant for burglary. No bond was set.

• A 39-year-old Wylie man was arrested Tuesday on a Love County warrant for grand larceny. Bond was sent at $10,000.

• A 29-year-old Houston woman was arrested Tuesday on the charges of possessing 50 or more items of fraudulent identification, failure to identify as a fugitive with intent to give false information, parole violation, and a Harris County warrant for criminal trespass. Bond was set at $10,000 on the fraud charge and $2,000 on the failure to identify charge.

• A 21-year-old Winnsboro woman turned herself in Tuesday without incident on a warrant alleging possession of a controlled substance, less than 1 gram. Bond was denied.

• A 36-year-old Sulphur Springs man turned himself in Wednesday without incident on a warrant of insufficient bond, voyeurism of a victim under 14 years of age. Bond was set at $500,000.

• A 22-year-old Grand Prairie man was arrested Thursday on a Dallas County warrant alleging assault, family violence, by impeding breathing and circulation. Bond was set at $3,500.

• a 49-year-old Sulphur Springs man was arrested on Sampson County warrants on four counts of indecent liberties with a child.

• A 31-year-old Sulphur Springs man was arrested on the charge of possession of a Schedule 1 drug, less than an ounce, during a traffic stop due to a defective tail light.

“During a consent search, I located a cigarette container on the dash in front of the steering wheel. Inside the container, I observed a small clear baggie containing a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine,” reported the arresting officer.

The substance field-tested positive for methamphetamine at 0.29 grams, including the packaging, according to the police report.

• A 23-year-old Greenville man was arrested in Onondaga County jail in Syracuse, N.Y. on a Hopkins County warrant alleging burglary of a habitation and theft of a firearm and transported to Hopkins County Jail. No bond was set.

Animal complaints

• Cows out just north of Miller Grove ISD on FM 275 south at 9:22 a.m. Tuesday;

• Report of a neighbor’s dog attacking the neighbor’s horse, injuring the horse in Sulphur Springs at 1:38 p.m. Tuesday. The neighbors were not home at the time;

• A black Angus bull with a red tag in its left ear was reported missing from a property on County Road 3558 in Sulphur Bluff at 3:02 p.m. Tuesday;

• A bunch of cows out about 1.5 miles east of State Highway 19 on FM 1536 in Tira at 7:31 a.m. Wednesday;

• Six or seven cows out on a man’s property on CR 3515 in Dike at 4:50 p.m. Wednesday;

• A report of a Charolais bull out 2 miles west of FM 275 south in Cumby at 5:32 a.m. Thursday;

• A report of a dead deer on the side of the road on Interstate 30 at mile marker 130 in Sulphur Springs at 7:52 a.m. Thursday; • A report of a horse the roadway on

• A report of a horse the roadway on Wildcat Way in Sulphur Springs at 11:32 a.m. Thursday;

• A request for an officer to check on a dog that was in the back of a vehicle on I-30 at mile marker 114 in Sulphur Springs at 11:40 a.m. Thursday;

• A report of a horse in the roadway on CR 4131 in Cumby at 3:23 p .m. Thursday;

• A report of a horse in the roadway on CR 1151 in Sulphur Springs at 4:02 p.m. Thursday;

• Someone called to report 15 dogs at a CR 4586 property in Sulphur Springs were not being taken care of at 4:06 p.m. Thursday; and

• A report of a cow in the roadway on CR 2408 in Sulphur Springs at 4:24 p.m. Thursday.
