The following reports are based on arrests conducted with reports filed by Sulphur Springs and Hopkins County law enforcement from 7 a.m. Friday to 5:30 a.m. Tuesday and included:

Drug-related arrests

■ Lacey Blevins, 34, of Sulphur Springs was arrested Sunday 3:44 a.m. on charges of possession of penalty group one controlled substance in an amount greater than or equal to one gram but less than four grams, tampering or fabricating physical evidence with intent to impair, no driver’s license, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Hopkins County Communications reportedly advised a call in reference to a reckless driver traveling eastbound on I30 through Cumby. Communications advised that the caller gave a description matching Blevins’ vehicle. A Hopkins county deputy reportedly arrived in the area and observed the vehicle traveling from the right lane to the left without using a signal. The vehicle allegedly appeared to begin traveling back towards the right lane when the deputy initiated their overhead lights to conduct a traffic stop. The vehicle reportedly came to a stop at mile marker 117 and the deputy made contact with Blevins. While speaking with Blevins, the deputy allegedly observed her to appear lethargic and detected a faint smell of an alcoholic beverage. Blevins reportedly advised that she was a bartender and was tired. The deputy contacted communications to conduct a complete records check on Blevins. Due to Blevins’ behavior, the deputy reportedly asked for consent to search the vehicle and Blevins allegedly gave verbal consent to the search. Blevins was reportedly advised to move to the front of the deputy’s patrol unit, and while she was walking, the deputy allegedly observed a bulky object concealed in her jeans. During the search of the vehicle, the deputy reportedly located a clear plastic jar with a half smoked marijuana cigarette inside. While the deputy was conducting the search, they allegedly observed Blevins placing her thumbs inside her pants as if attempting to move the item further inside her pants. The deputy reportedly confronted Blevins about their observations and Blevins allegedly began using her hand to push the item further down. Blevins was placed in handcuffs but allegedly would not admit to her having concealed anything inside her pants. Shortly afterwards a K9 Deputy arrived on scene to assist with the investigation. Blevins was advised that she was being placed into custody. A wrecker service impounded the vehicle upon completion of the K9 deputy’s investigation. A small cloth zipper pouch was allegedly located on Blevins’ person inside the dress out room while being dressed out by the Jail Staff. The pouch reportedly contained two glass pipes commonly used for smoking methamphetamine wrapped in a torn handkerchief. The pouch also allegedly contained a clear plastic baggie containing a crystal like substance believed to be methamphetamine weighing a little under two grams including packaging. The substance reportedly tested positive using a field test kit. Blevins was booked on the above offenses. Bond was set at $20,000.

■ Nicholas Trimble, 32, of Mt. Pleasant was arrested Monday 2:12 a.m. on a charge for possession of a penalty group two controlled substance in an amount greater than one gram but less than four grams. Trimble was reportedly stopped for a vehicle violation. Upon contact the Hopkins county Sergeant allegedly learned that Trimble did not have a valid driver’s license and had an active warrant from Smith County. Smith County reportedly advised that they could not confirm the warrant. A consent search was requested due to Trimble’s alleged deceptive behavior. A K9 officer and his K9 partner arrived to assist in the investigation. The K9 reportedly gave a positive alert to the odor of narcotics emitting from the vehicle. A probable cause search was conducted and the officers allegedly located a black pill bottle with two small baggies inside. One baggie reportedly contained a small amount of suspected marijuana and the second baggie contained an assortment of different shaped, colored and sized suspected ecstasy tablets. Trimble was placed into custody and transported to the jail. The contraband was photographed and weighed at the office. The suspected ecstasy reportedly showed a weight of over two grams and a positive test result using a field test kit. Bond was set at $5,000.

Warrants, transfers and other activity

■ Lee McNeil, 54, of Monroe, LA was transported Friday 11:17 a.m. from the Ouachita Parish Correctional Facility to the Hopkins County Jail on a Hopkins county warrant for felony fraudulent use or possession of identifying information, less than five items. McNeil was reportedly polite and cooperative in all aspects. Bond was denied.

■ A Sulphur Springs woman, 43, was arrest Friday 8:57 a.m. on three Hopkins County warrants for driving while license invalid, failure to maintain insurance and no license plate light. A Sulphur Springs officer was reportedly on patrol and conducted a traffic stop on the woman’s vehicle. The subject was checked through Sulphur Springs communications and the warrants were reportedly confirmed. The woman was placed into handcuffs and transported to the jail without incident. Bond was $1,502.

■ Robert Jeffrey, 47, of Cooper was arrested Sunday on Delta County warrants for charges of murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Jeffrey was arrested for the above offenses at 808 West Dallas Ave. by the Delta County Sheriff ’s Office. A Hopkins County deputy made contact with Delta County deputies after Jeffrey had been process and arraigned by a magistrate. The Hopkins county deputy transported Jeffrey to the Hopkins County Jail for security purposes and released him to staff for booking. Bond was set at $1,500,000.

■ Carlton Fite, 44, of Yantis was served Monday 4:30 p.m. with a warrant for violation of bond or a protective order two or more times. Fite was reportedly served the warrant while in custody of Hopkins County Jail. Bond was set at $50,000.

■ Jesus Escobedo-Fenandez, 24, of Sulphur Springs was arrested Monday 4:05 p.m. on a Hopkins county warrant for manufacturing or delivering a penalty group one controlled substance in an amount greater than or equal to one gram but less than four grams in a drug free zone. Escobedo was allegedly involved in an investigation with the Sulphur Springs Special Crimes Unit in which investigators were utilizing a confidential informant. The informant reportedly purchased a quantify of methamphetamine weighing more than one gram but less than four grams. This delivery allegedly occurred in a drug free zone enhancing this charge. Bond was set at $25,000.

■ An Austin man, 32, was arrested Monday 12:15 p.m. on an Austin Parole board warrant for a parole violation. Sulphur Springs officers were dispatched to the CHRISTUS Mother Frances emergency room in reference to the man having a active parole warrant. Upon arrival the man was released from the ER and the warrant was reportedly confirmed through Sulphur Springs communications. The man was placed in handcuffs and transported to the jail without incident. Bond was not set.

■ A Conneaut, Ohio woman, 24, was arrested Monday 9:55 p.m. for disorderly conduct by using vulgar language. A Sulphur Springs officer was dispatched to a verbal disturbance in the parking lot. The officer was reportedly advised that the woman allegedly refused to leave. The officer observed the woman allegedly cursing at a nurse and hospital staff. The officer reportedly advised the woman to stop using the vulgar language multiple times. The woman was taken into custody and placed in handcuffs for transport to the jail. Bond was not set.

■ Sami Sami Junior, 22, was arrested Monday 8:40 p.m. on a Hopkins county warrant for violation of probation on a charge of tampering or fabricating with evidence with intent to impair. Sami was reportedly located at his residence and communications advised that Sami had an active warrant for his arrest. Sami was taking into custody and transported to the Hopkins County Jail. Bond was denied.

Hopkins County communications operators answered 887 non-emergency phone calls, 247 calls for service and 138 emergency calls. From 7 a.m. Friday to 5:30 a.m. Friday officers filed eight offenses and conducted 16 special patrols, seven funeral escorts and 65 traffic stops. Ten people were booked in and ten people were released from the Hopkins County Jail which held 174 inmates as of 5:30 a.m Tuesday.
