The following reports are based on arrests conducted with reports filed by Sulphur Springs and Hopkins County law enforcement from 7 a.m. Friday to 5:30 a.m. Tuesday and included:

Drug-related arrests

• Christopher Waters, 27, was arrested Friday 8:39 a.m. for possession of marijuana in an amount less than two ounces and possession of a penalty group two controlled substance in an amount more than four gramss and less than 400 grams. A traffic stop was conducted on a red Ford Focus for driving in the left lane when not passing and the passenger was not wearing a seat belt. Upon approaching the passenger side, the officer identified themselves as being state police, and stated the reason for the traffic stop. The officer allegedly smelled marijuana emitting from the vehicle and the driver and the passenger were both asked to step out. Waters, the passenger, was searched for weapons and contraband. The officer allegedly located a bag containing a green leafy substance and a bag of edible dummies on Water’s person. A search of the vehicle revealed numerous containers of the same green leafy substance and multiple THC bags with dummies. Several other empty packages and containers were located with marijuana leaves, THC markings and CA warning labels on the packing material. Bond is set at $31,000.

• Courtney Daniel-Fields, 32, was arrested Friday 8:39 a.m. for manufacturing or delivery of penalty group two controlled substance, possession of a penalty group two controlled substance more than four grams but less than 400 grams, and possession of marijuana in an amount greater than four ounces but less than five pounds. Daniel-Fields was stopped by officers for driving in the left lane without passing and the passenger was not wearing a seat belt. The officer reportedly had both subjects exit the vehicle after allegedly smelling marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Upon searching the vehicle, the officer allegedly located numerous containers of the same green leafy substance and multiple THC bags with dummies. Several other empty packages and containers were located with marijuana leaves, THC markings and CA warning labels on the packing material. Daniel-Fields allegedly claimed the marijuana and dummies located in the vehicle belonged to him. The marijuana was later weighted at 4.52 ounces and the dummies weighed at 447 rams. Three separate containers containing what is believed to be THC wax was weighed at 73 grams. Daniel-Fields was also charged for two Bell County warrants for larceny and driving while license invalid with a previous suspension, that were confirmed through the DPS Texarkana office. Bond is set at $75,000.

Alcohol-related arrests

• Steven Krietemeyer, 46, of Winnsboro, was arrested Monday 12:56 a.m. for public intoxication and possession of a penalty group one controlled substance. Officers were dispatched to Taco Bell in reference to an unconscious person in the drive through. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with Krietemeyer who allegedly displayed slurred speech, unsteady walking, unsteady while standing and an odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from his person. Krietemeyer was reportedly believed to be a danger to himself and others. Krietemeyer’s vehicle was left in the Taco Bell parking lot and Krietemeyer was transported to the jail. Jail staff conducted a search of Krietemeyer’s person and located a small container containing a substance believed to be methamphetamine. No bond was set.

• A Sulphur Springs man, 34, was arrested Monday 6:46 p.m. for disorderly conduct. Officers were dispatched to a call where a subject was outside being very loud. The man advised officers that he had consumed a large alcoholic beverage prior to their arrival. The officer allegedly observed the man having mood swings, and using profanity and vulgar language. Outside the residence, there was reportedly a juvenile who may be offended by the use of such language. The man was placed into custody and transported to the jail without incident. No bond is set.

Warrants, transfers and other activity

• A Sulphur Springs woman, 53, was arrested Friday 10:02 p.m. for two active warrants for failure to change address. A Sulphur Springs officer was dispatched to a call in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with the woman who advised she had been in an altercation with her boyfriend. A computer check allegedly showed the woman to have two outstanding warrants. The warrants were confirmed and the woman was taken into custody. Upon arrival at the jail, the woman alleged that she needed medical attention for an injury sustained during the altercation. EMS were called to the jail and the woman was transported to the hospital. At the hospital, the woman reportedly received Motrin for her injury and was released back to the officer. Bond is set at $660.40.

• James Galloway, 26, of Cooper was arrested Friday 11 p.m. on three active alias capias warrants for abandoning or endangering a child or criminal neglect, possession of a penalty group two controlled substance and possession of a penalty group one controlled substance. Galloway was reportedly taken into custody after a Hopkins County officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. Galloway was allegedly hiding in the back floor board of the vehicle behind the driver. A small amount of marijuana was also located. Galloway was taken into custody and transported to the jail. The other parties in the vehicle were released. Bond is set at $195,000.

• A Sulphur Springs man, 21, was arrested Saturday 1:53 p.m. on a warrant for possession of drug paraphernalia. A Sulphur Springs police officer made contact with the man in the 600 block of Ingram Street. The man reportedly identified himself and a records check showed him to have the an active capias pro-fine warrant for his arrest. Once the warrant was confirmed, the man was taken into custody and transported to the jail without incident. No bond was set.

• Jeffery Kuyendall, 38, of Sulphur Springs was arrested Friday 9:07 a.m. after police were dispatched to a call for an unresponsive person. Kuyendall was charged with unlawful carry of a weapon in a prohibited place, possession of marijuana in a drug free zone and had two warrants for failure to vaccinate an animal against rabies, and public intoxication. Upon arrival the officers were advised by the complainant advised that the driver allegedly woke up and went west towards the high school. The vehicle was reportedly located driving west near the civic center through the parking lot. The officer reportedly conducted a stop on the vehicle and during a probable cause search, allegedly located a pistol and marijuana that weighed less than two ounces. The man was reportedly driving on the Sulphur Springs School District property and was stopped in the parking lot. Kuykendall was taken into custody. Bond is set at

• Kyle Fox, 29, of Commerce, was arrested Saturday 9:30 p.m. on a Hopkins County warrant for assault of a family or household member with impeding breath or circulation. Fox was reportedly located by the Commerce Police and was placed into custody for the aforementioned warrant. Fox was transported to the jail without incident. Bond is set at $15,000.

• A Cooper woman, 22, was arrested Saturday 7:41 p.m. on a Hunt County warrant for assault causes bodily injury. Sulphur Springs police conducted a traffic stop for the driver. A strong odor of marijuana was allegedly emitting from the vehicle. A probable cause search was conducted. The woman was the front passenger and reportedly gave her information to the officer. A computer check was conducted and the subject was found to have an outstanding warrant for the aforementioned charge. The warrant was reportedly confirmed and the subject was secured into handcuffs. The vehicle was released to the driver. Bond is set at $2,000.

• A homeless man, 55, was arrested Saturday 6:28 p.m. for criminal trespass. Sulphur Springs police were dispatched to a call for a man on the roof of the VF Outlet Mall. Once the man was located, the Sulphur Springs Fire Department assisted by taking the officer to the roof with a ladder truck. The man complied and came down voluntarily, was taken to the hospital for an evaluation. After the evaluation, the man was released to the Hopkins County Jail. Bond is set at $2,000.

• A Sulphur Springs woman, 34, was arrested Sunday 1:28 p.m. on a Hunt County warrant for terroristic threat causing fear of imminent serious bodily injury. The police were dispatched to the location to check on another subject and made contact with the woman. A search through communications reportedly showed the woman to have the aforementioned warrant. The woman was placed into custody. Bond is set at $1,500.

• A Commerce man, 34, was arrested Sunday 11:06 p.m. for driving with an expired operator’s license. A Sulphur Springs officer conducted a traffic stop on the man’s vehicle and found the driver to be showing nervous tendencies. The man was instructed to step out of the vehicle and a search was conducted. No contraband was found and a records check showed the man to have an expired operators license. The man was secured in handcuffs and transported to the jail without incident.

• A Sulphur Springs man, 38, was arrested Sunday 6 p.m. for that of property greater than $100 and less than $750. The man was reportedly involved in a disturbance and was identified by his driver’s license. The man was found to be wanted on the aforementioned warrant. The man was arrested upon confirmation and transported to the jail. Bond is set at $1,000.

• A Mount Pleasant man, 39, was arrested Monday 4:11 p.m. on a Hopkins County warrant for bail jumping or failure to appear on a charge of criminal trespass. The man was being released from Lindsay Unit in Jacksboro when officers made contact. The man was taken into custody for the aforementioned warrant and transported to the Hopkins County jail without incident. Bond is set at $5,000.

Hopkins County communications operators answered 768 non-emergency phone calls, 222 calls for service and 149 emergency calls. From 7 a.m. Friday to 5:30 a.m. Friday officers filed zero offenses and conducted five special patrols, six funeral escorts and 62 traffic stops. 14 people were booked in and 12 people were released from the Hopkins County Jail which held 173 inmates as of 5:30 a.m Tuesday.
