The following reports are based on arrests conducted with reports filed by Sulphur Springs and Hopkins County law enforcement from 5:30 a.m. Saturday to 7 a.m. Tuesday and included:

Alcohol-related arrests

■ A 53-year-old Bridgeport man was arrested 7:44 p.m. Monday on a charge of driving while intoxicated with an open container and a parole warrant for burglary. The officer received reports of a reckless driver failing to maintain lanes, and the officer reportedly observed the vehicle nearly crashed into construction cones and conducted a traffic stop. The officer made contact with the driver who allegedly stated he had not been drinking. The officer reportedly observed a 12-pack of beer with only five cans remaining inside the vehicle, and when asked to exit the vehicle, the driver was allegedly unsteady on his feet and reportedly had the odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from his breath. It was later determined the driver had an active warrant. No bond was set.

Drug-related arrests

■ A 17-year-old Sulphur Springs man was arrested 2:55 a.m. Saturday on a charge of possession of less than 2 ounces of marijuana in a drug-free zone. The man was stopped for an alleged traffic violation, and upon contact, the officer reported smelled the odor of marijuana. A search of the car allegedly located a clear bag with a green, leafy substance believed to be marijuana. No bond was set.

■ Richie Porter, 49, of Sulphur Springs was arrested 1:16 a.m. Saturday on charges of evading arrest, tampering and possession of 4 to 200 grams of a controlled substance. Deputies arrived at Porter’s residence to serve a reported warrant, and an officer waited at the back of the residence. The officer reportedly heard a noise coming from a vehicle and allegedly advised Porter to show his hands. Porter allegedly began to run, and the officer reportedly gave warning to stop before firing his Taser. The Taser was ineffective due to Porter’s jacket, reports read, but Porter stopped and dropped to his knees. The officers also reportedly found a metal container with a crystal-like substance, and jail staff allegedly found a loaded hypodermic syringe. No bond was set.

■ Russell Chancey, 32, of Dallas was arrested 3 p.m. Sunday on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and a Dallas County warrant for violation of probation on a charge of aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury. An officer with Texas Parks and Wildlife at Cooper Lake State Park reportedly made contact with Chancey for a checkout time violation and allegedly detected the odor of marijuana near Chancey’s vehicle. The officer asked about the marijuana, and according to records, Chancey had his fiancé turn over a small of marijuana with a pipe and rolling papers. A records check found the reported warrant. No bond was set.

■ Brooklyn Purser, 18, of Cumby was arrested 12:20 a.m. Tuesday on a Denton County warrant for possession of 1 to 4 grams of a penalty group 2 controlled substance. No bond was set.

Transfers, warrants and other activity

■ A Sulphur Springs man, 44, was arrested on a charge of assault causing family violence 7:53 p.m. Friday.

■ A 37-year-old Sulphur Springs woman was arrested 12:44 a.m. Saturday on a charge of interfering with an emergency request for assistance. The officer responded to the scene for a reported active disturbance and open 911 line. According to reports, a juvenile called 911 on the woman’s phone but had it taken away. The officer reportedly made efforts to separate the parties but was not successful. No bond was set.

■ Jenny Slater, 43, of Sulphur Springs was arrested 12:14 a.m. Saturday on an alias capias warrant for possession of a penalty group 1 controlled substance. Bond was set at $10,000.

■ A Sulphur Springs man, 60, was arrested 10:44 p.m. on a warrant for theft of service, greater than or equal to $100 but less than $750,. No bond was set.

■ A homeless Texas man, 21, was arrested 8:17 p.m. Saturday on charges of theft of property valued at less than $100. The complainant reportedly advised the man opened items inside a store and did not pay for them. Upon contact, the man allegedly stated he did not have a way to pay for the items. No bond was set.

■ Alexander Campos, 40, of Las Vegas, Nev. was arrested 9 a.m. Friday at the Clark County Jail in Nevada on a violation of probation charge for possession of 1 to 4 grams of a penalty group 1 controlled substance. No bond was set.

■ Celecia Jeffery. 21, of Sulphur Springs was arrested 9:19 p.m. Sunday on charges of reckless driving and evading arrest with a vehicle. According to reports, the officer allegedly observed Jeffery’s vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Main Street. When the officer turned on their overhead lights, Jeffery reportedly slowed and turned onto another street, but she allegedly picked up speed again. No bond was set.

■ Larissa Benson, 31, of Como was arrested 4:09 p.m. Monday for a violation of probation warrant for the abandonment or endangerment of a child with criminal negligence. Bond was denied.
