The following reports are based on arrests conducted with reports filed by Sulphur Springs and Hopkins County law enforcement from 5:30 a.m. Sunday to 7 a.m. Friday and included:

Alcohol-related arrests

■ A Lone Oak woman, 49, was arrested 1:59 a.m. Wednesday on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and public intoxication. During a traffic stop for an alleged defective brake light, a consent search reportedly located a glass pipe used to smoke methamphetamine. The woman and another male passenger in a vehicle reportedly denied ownership. The woman also reportedly admitted to drinking alcohol before the traffic stop. No bond was set.

Drug-related arrests

■ Shanna Segleski, 42, of Dallas was arrested 1:10 p.m. Sunday on a charge of possession of less than 1 gram of a penalty group 1 controlled substance. Segleski was reportedly stopped on Interstate 30 for speeding in excess for 100 mph, and the officer allegedly observed Segleski to be agitated and under the influence of an unknown narcotic. Segleski reportedly evaded questioning and allegedly granted permission to the officer to search her vehicle. The search reportedly a lock box that reportedly contained a plastic baggie with a crystal-like substance believed to be suspected methamphetamine. Other alleged drug paraphernalia was reportedly found. No bond was set.

■ Kimberly Rachui, 30, of Sulphur Springs was arrested 3:08 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of possession of less than 1 gram of a penalty group 1 controlled substance. The officer made contact with Rachui at her residence and inside a vehicle, and the officer allegedly smelled an odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Rachui reportedly handed the officer a pipe with unsmoked marijuana. During a probable cause search, the officer allegedly located a glass pipe used to smoke methamphetamine and a baggie suspected to contain methamphetamine. No bond was set.

■ A Sulphur Springs man, 20, was arrested 6:31 p.m. Tuesday on a charge of possession of less than 2 ounces of marijuana. The officer was reportedly dispatched in reference to subject smoking marijuana inside a vehicle, and upon contact, the officer allegedly observed a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. During a probable cause search, a bag contained a leafy, green substance was reportedly located. No bond was set.

■ Mathew Banda, 24, of El Paso was arrested 8:45 p.m. Tuesday on a Hopkins County warrant for manufacturing or delivery of more than or equal to 400 gram of a penalty group 1 controlled substance. The officer was dispatched reportedly in reference to Banda believing he had a warrant, and a computer check found the warrant. Bond was denied.

■ A Sulphur Springs man, 23, was arrested 2:27 a.m. Tuesday on a charge of possession less than 2 ounces of marijuana. The officer reportedly observed the man’s vehicle had a defective headlamp, and on contact, the officer allegedly observed the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. A probable cause search of the vehicle reportedly located baggies of marijuana and multiple items of drug paraphernalia. No bond was set.

■ A Sulphur Springs man, 46, was arrested 1:59 a.m. Wednesday on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia. During a traffic stop for an alleged defective brake light, a consent search reportedly located a glass pipe used to smoke methamphetamine. The man and another female passenger in a vehicle reportedly denied ownership. No bond was set.

■ Omar Ochoa, 32, of Saltillo, was arrested 12:02 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of possession of 1 to 4 grams of a penalty group 2 controlled substance. The officer made contact with Ochoa inside his vehicle, and the officer reportedly smelled an odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. A probable cause search of the vehicle allegedly located psychedelic mushrooms and marijuana. No bond was set.

■ Mazeke Carruth, 22, of Little Rock, Ark. was arrested 12:33 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant for violation of probation on a charge on possession of 5 to 50 pounds of marijuana.

■ A 20-year-old Texarkana man was arrested 10:30 a.m. Thursday on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana possession of less than 2 ounces.

Transfers, warrants and other activity

■ Gilbert Ray Collier, 33, of San Antonio was arrested 1:49 a.m. Monday on charges of evading arrest and theft of service. The officer responded to a call by Collier alleging he had been grazed by another vehicle and pushed off the road. Once on scene, the officer called a wrecker reportedly on Collier’s request and ran an ID number provided by Collier that allegedly showed no driver’s license. A citation was reportedly issued for that. Once the wrecker arrived and pulled Collier’s vehicle from the mud, Collier and driver reportedly attempted to work out payment, but Collier allegedly only paid a portion and stepped into his vehicle. The officer reportedly advised Collier to step out, but Collier allegedly refused. The officer reportedly reached into the vehicle to retrieve the key, but Collier then allegedly grabbed the officer’s hand and placed his vehicle in drive. The officer only received a minor scratch and reportedly pursued Collier. The chase ended when a Hopkins County deputy spiked Collier’s vehicle, and Collier was reportedly removed from the vehicle by the first officer and other deputies. No bond was set.

■ Rowdy Dee Duvall, 41, of Commerce turned himself 4:55 p.m. Sunday on a violation of probation warrant on a charge of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. Bond was denied.

■ Cecily Saffel, 25, of Sulphur Springs was arrested 4:42 p.m. Sunday on charges of driving with an invalid license with previous convictions and possession of one to four grams of a penalty group 1 controlled substance. An officer reportedly observed Saffel driving and allegedly had prior knowledge that Saffel had a suspended driver’s license. A stop was made, and previous convictions were allegedly found for Saffel. She was taken into custody, and Saffel reportedly admitted to have narcotics on her person. The alleged narcotics were recovered at the Hopkins County Jail. No bond was set.

■ A Sulphur Springs man, 39, was arrested 10:28 a.m. on a charge of failure to display a driver’s license. No bond was set.

■ Damien Gilliam, 34, of Nashville, Ark. was arrested 11 p.m. Monday on a Bowie County warrant for probation violation on a charge of driving while intoxicated, second offense. Gilliam was reportedly stopped for having a license plate attached to a vehicle it did not match, and during the investigation it was allegedly found Gilliam had a warrant. Bond was denied.

■ Rafael Navarro Vargas, 42, of Sulphur Springs was arrested 8:57 a.m. Monday on a Hopkins County warrant for assault causing bodily injury, family violence. No bond was set.

■ Infant Venzor, 21, of Dallas was arrested 12:54 p.m. Monday at the Dallas County Jail on charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and bail jumping and transported to the Hopkins County Jail. Bond was set at $35,000.

Mary Walker, 26, of Sulphur Springs was arrested 4:30 p.m. Monday on a Hopkins County warrant for abandoning or endangering a child with criminal negligence. No bond was set.

■ A Sulphur Springs man, 29, was arrested 1:06 p.m. Wednesday on charges of criminal trespass and bail jumping. Bond was set at $5,000.

■ A charge of promotion of child pornography was added Tuesday for Derrick Morris, 37, of Sulphur Springs.

■ Aaron Huddleston was transported to the Hopkins County Jail 2:25 a.m. Friday and held on a warrant for violation of probation on a charge of theft of property between $50 to $500. No bond was set.

■ Justen Saffel, 25, of Omaha, Texas was arrested 11:33 a.m. Thursday on Morris County warrants for illegal dumping and intentional or knowing unauthorized discharge. No bond was set.

Hopkins County communications operators answered 1,046 non-emergency phone calls, 296 calls for service and 187 emergency calls. From 5:30 a.m. Sunday to 7 a.m. Friday, officers filed 12 offenses and conducted three special patrols, two funeral escorts and 113 traffic stops. Twenty-three people were booked in and 28 people were released from the Hopkins County Jail which held 163 inmates as of 5:30 a.m. Friday.
