Reported structure fire leads to arrest

Cesar Mendoza, 31, of Sulphur Springs was arrested at his residence early Wednesday morning on Collin County warrants for probation revocation on charges of possession of 4-200 grams of a Penalty Group 1 controlled substance and possession of less than 2 ounces of marijuana.

SSPD officers responded to the location following a structure fire in reference to Mendoza having active warrants.

Mendoza reportedly identified himself as Ceasar Mendez with a birth date in 1988 rather than 1987.

The warrants were confirmed through Collin County.

Mendoza allegedly resisted while being taken into custody but was secured without incident or injury.

As he was being patted down, Mendoza reportedly stated he had methamphetamine in his pocket. Officers allegedly located approximately 2.4 grams of suspected methamphetamine in his pocket, along with a glass pipe and butane torch.

Mendoza was additionally charged with failure to identify as a fugitive and possession of 1-4 grams of a Penalty Group 1 controlled substance. Bond was set at $12,000, and Mendoza remained in jail as of press time Wednesday, jail and arrest reports read.

 

Jail transfers, other activity

Melaney Ann Tennison, 38, of Sulphur Springs was booked into the Hopkins County jail Monday on a commitment on a charge of tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, jail reports read.

Zackery Tye Dines, 22, was transferred to Rockwall County Monday. He was booked into the Hopkins County jail Aug. 13 on a charge of possession of 400 grams or more of a Penalty Group 2 controlled substance, jail reports read. 

Jana Marie Kirtley, 53, of Sulphur Springs was transferred to another facility Monday. She was booked into jail June 28 on a probation violation on a charge of hindering apprehension or prosecution of a known felon, jail reports read.

Zadarius Tremaine Gamble, 19, of Mount Pleasant was transported to Hopkins County from the Titus County jail Tuesday on a warrant for probation violation on a December 2018 charge of theft of a firearm. Bond was denied, arrest reports read.

Ruben Rodolfo Grant, 58, of Fate was released from jail on $50,000 bond Tuesday. He was booked in Sunday on a Rock-wall County warrant for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, jail reports read.
