Author Lee Strobel to speak at fundraiser

Northeast Texas Heart of Hope, A Pregnancy Resource Center is holding their fall fundraiser this week, Festival of Life. This year, the nonprofit organization will bring international best-selling author Lee Strobel.

Strobel is an award-winning journalist and author and self-proclaimed “atheist-turned-Christian” with a career spanning 25-plus years in evangelism. His most popular book is The Case for Christ. He earned a bachelor of journalism from the University of Missouri and master of studies in law at Yale Law School. He worked as a legal editor for The Chicago Tribune. Strobel has also made appearances in faith-based film and television.

The Texas resident has been married to wife Leslie for over 40 years.

The fall fundraiser event will provide appetizers, hors d’oeuvres and refreshments served before the program with take-home desserts afterwards for those choosing to attend in person.

A limited number of tickets are available for in-person attendance, and virtual reservations are unlimited. Those registering for the live stream option will be emailed instructions directing viewers to the website.

Heart of Hope, 407 South Davis St. in Sulphur Springs, offers free services, including pregnancy testing, ultrasound, parenting classes and Earn While You Learn Program that provides parents-to-be with needed baby supplies based on the parents’ participation.
