August Dairy Festival events canceled

Due to COVID-19 concerns, the Hopkins County Dairy Festival Board of Directors has canceled the August events with the hope of a return next year.

"We are sad to not be able to enjoy the Parade and Pageant this year but we felt it was our duty to put the health and well-being of our contestants, family, and community as a priority," board member Brooke Howard Newsome said.

In April, the festival was announced to only hold a few events, including the parade, pageant and milking contest, and the date was pushed back to August from June.
