Arlington man allegedly had 44 lbs of marijuana during traffic stop

After a routine traffic stop on Saturday morning, DPS troopers allegedly found 44 pounds of marijuana on Interstate-30 near the 129 mile marker. 

At approximatle 8:21 a.m., police pulled over a vehicle and spoke to its passenger, Dallas Quincy Jackson, who said he had hired the vehicle as a rideshare service to drive him from Little Rock, Arkansas to Arlington.

According to police reports, troopers observed indicators of "nervousness and criminal activity" coming from Jackson. They then asked Jackson if he had any luggage with him and he said he didn't, but his driver allegedly told troopers he had placed two large bags in the trunk. 

At that time Jackson allegedly admitted he did have luggage, and it contained marijuana. When troopers searched the bags, they allegedly found 38 vacuumed sealed bags containing 44 pounds of marijuana, as well as a water bottle with purple liquid they believed to contain codeine. 

Jackson was booked into jail on $25,000 total worth of bonds on charges of possession of marijuana from 5-50 pounds as well as possession of a schedule four substance from 28 to 200 grams and was later released, according to records.
