Annual Chili Cook-off draws 19 competitors

Senior Citizens Center

Five judges sampled 19 pots of chili Thursday before awarding certificates and trophies to the winners of the third annual Chili Cook-off at the Sulphur Springs Senior Citizens Center.

Vickie Pickel took first place, with Wesley House/Wesley Oaks earning second and Hopkins Place placing third. Honorable mentions went to Paula Moody, Heritage Hospice, Jimmie Bell and Faye Pool, Rock Creek Health and Rehab, and Signature Home Dialysis.

East Texas Physical Therapy sponsored the Chili Cook-off, and Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home sponsored the trophies and award certificates.
