Have you been diagnosed with diabetes or pre-diabetes? Does type 2 diabetes run in your family? Do you take care of someone who has type 2 diabetes? If you answered yes to any of these, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension can help! “Do Well, Be Well with Diabetes” is a five-topic, four-lesson series designed to help manage diabetes. The series has helped many people in the past and continues to do so.

A new series is starting in February, and due to receiving a grant, the series is free of charge! Even though face-to-face sessions are more effective, we are offering the series via Zoom. Below are the details:

• Wednesday, Feb. 3 – Getting Start – How Food Affects Your Blood Sugar

• Wednesday, Feb. 10 – Are You Eating the Right Amount of Carbs/ Physical Activity

• Wednesday, Feb. 17 – Diabetes Medications

• Wednesday, Feb. 24 – Celebrating Sensibly with Diabetes/ Complications

Each session will begin at 2 p.m. You can participate in the series from the comfort of your own home, office or anywhere with internet. If you are not familiar with Zoom or perhaps don’t have reliable internet, you are welcome to come to the Hopkins County Extension Office and we’ll pull it up for you. This series is in partnership with Fannin, Rockwall and Titus Counties, and Hopkins County’s own Sue Potts will be a presenter for the final session.

If you are interested, please contact our office at 903-885-3443 by Friday, Jan. 29. We will provide you with a registration form and a link to the first session. We also have a notebook containing the materials for each registered participant.
