SUV caught fire on I-30, police say

Two children have been killed in an 18-wheeler rollover early Sunday morning, according to Sulphur Springs police. 

At approximately 5 a.m. on Sunday morning May 24, SSPD were notified to a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 30 at the 124 mile marker exit eastbound, according to police. 

The accident involved an 18-wheeler which rear-ended an SUV, causing the 18-wheeler to rollover and the SUV to catch fire, police said.

Two fatalities resulted from this crash: a seven-year-old boy and a nine-year-old boy, who were passengers of the SUV, police said.

SSPD has released the names of the boys killed in the early Sunday morning crash on I-30. The 9-year-old is identified as Jeremiah Kent and the 7-year-old is Joshua Kent, of Shaw, Mississippi, according to investigating officer Cpl. Terry Miller. 

SSPD is continuing to investigate the crash, and asks any who witnessed the accident to contact Miller at 903-885-7602.
