A second Hopkins County prayer vigil will take place 8-8:30 p.m. Sunday, April 5 in the parking lot of Sulphur Springs High School. Attendees are asked to arrive and remain in their vehicles to maintain social distancing. Everyone is welcome to turn on their hazard or parking lights to indicate their participation. Prayers are asked for “our country, state, county and communities. Pray for our school district, our students, our teachers, and for this virus to end. Please also pray for all the businesses … and for those who have lost their jobs.” Organizers also request that prayers be said for all health care workers, those affected by the virus, and unity. Event organizers are Jamie VanWinkle, Shelia Aaron, Elizabeth Shaw Moss and Shirley Patchen.
