Phillip and Sherry Therwhanger 50th Anniversary

  • Phillip and Sherry Therwhanger met in September 1968 and were married on Aug. 16, 1969 in Spence Chapel of First Baptist Church of Sulphur Springs. God blessed the Therwhangers’ marriage with two boys, David and Marty, who in turn gave them four grandchildren. David and his wife, Janilyn, are parents to Abbi and Drew. Marty and his wife, Bea, are parents of Alexis and Brandon.

  • The Therwhangers’ careers carried them to Mobile, Alabama and San Antonio, Texas, where Phillip worked in the dairy industry and Sherry worked as a pediatric nurse and lactation consultant. The Therwhangers returned home to Sulphur Springs in 2001 where both are active in various ministries of First Baptist Church.
