$750K project in the works

A $750,000 sewer project at Saputo is the next big step in Sulphur Springs’ capital improvement plan and is totally grant-funded by the Texas Department of Agriculture, reported city manager Marc Maxwell to the city council Tuesday night.

Isabella Nessie Velasco was born to Marcella, 24, and Francisco, 27, Velasco of Sulphur Springs at 12:26 a.m. Jan. 1 at Christus Mother Frances Hospital in Sulphur Springs. Isabella weighed 7 pounds, 9 ounces and was one week early, and she has five other siblings ages 7, 6, 4, 2 and 1. CORRECTION: In the print edition of the Jan. 6 News-Telegram, Marcella's age was incorrectly listed as 20. Her correct age is 24. The News-Telegram regrets the error.
